We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health Information Technology (HIT) Training Specialist to join our client's team. This role is essential in developing, implementing and facilitating training programs for staff on health information systems and electronic health record (EHR) applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health information technology, excellent communication skills and a passion for education and training.
HIT Training Specialist Responsibilities:
Design, develop and update training materials and programs for health information systems, including EHRs, data management systems and other HIT applications
Conduct hands-on training sessions, workshops and one-on-one coaching for clinical and administrative staff to ensure effective use of health information technology tools
Serve as a primary point of contact for staff regarding training needs and technical support for HIT systems. Assist users in troubleshooting issues and enhancing their skills
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement
Work closely with IT staff, department leaders, and subject matter experts to identify training needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant progress and feedback to track user engagement and system utilization
Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in health information technology, including regulatory changes and best practices, to ensure training content is relevant and compliant
HIT Training Specialist Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Education or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education
2+ years of experience in health information technology, EHR systems or clinical informatics; prior experience in training or instructional design is a plus
Proficiency in health information systems, electronic health records (EHR) and data management tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
Strong facilitation and training skills, with experience in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
Ability to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for program enhancements
