Our client is hiring a dedicated Project Engineer to manage a team focused on Protection & Control (P&C) and Physical Design for an expanding client portfolio. This role balances hands-on project execution with leadership and oversight duties, splitting time between direct project work and team management. Key responsibilities include budget tracking, scheduling, resource management, and client coordination. This is a great fit for a project engineer who is adept at collaborating across teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Skills and Experience Needed:
In-depth expertise in medium to extra-high voltage substation P&C systems and/or physical design layout
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for engaging with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Strong interpersonal skills to foster client relationships and work smoothly with affiliates and peers
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and scheduling software, with a good grasp of corporate financial practices
Dedication to the client's safety guidelines and readiness to lead by example in safe work practices
Ability to quickly adopt and implement new project management tools and methodologies
Familiarity with PMI's Organizational Project Management (OPM) standards
Prior experience with utility equipment, systems, and program requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
At least 6 years of relevant project experience, with hands-on leadership in substation design projects
Competency in AutoCAD Electrical for P&C design package creation
