Our client is an established, general contractor that has been in business for over 50 years. Based out of Troy, MI, they have a strong reputation and offer GC, Construction Management and Self-Perform services. Additionally, they have a development arm and have grown their reputation in Metro Detroit acting as a Developer for Multi-family, Mixed-Use and Affordable housing projects.
Due to business growth, they seek an experienced Project Manager that will report directly to their Vice President. Their portfolio includes ground up work ranging from $10M to $40M.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders during the pre-construction phase to define project scope, timelines, budget, and deliverables.
Manage and review architectural plans, engineering specifications, and project budgets to ensure feasibility and efficiency.
Coordinate permitting processes and maintain strong relationships with local regulatory agencies and municipalities.
Oversee day-to-day project operations, ensuring all activities align with established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Coordinate with site superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors, maintaining open communication to resolve challenges and prevent delays.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety protocols, and quality control, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
Track project expenses and work closely with the finance team to manage budget compliance, cost forecasting, and change order documentation.
Negotiate contracts and manage vendor agreements to achieve cost-effective project solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
8+ years of project management experience in ground-up multi-family construction, including managing complex high-rise, mixed-use, or urban infill projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing projects from $10M+ in value.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
Proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera).
Strong negotiation, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and organizational abilities with a focus on client satisfaction and team leadership.
Qualifications
Salary between $110,000 - $140,000
