We are seeking a Power Purchase Agreement Administrator for a top clean energy provider in Northern CA. You will work with cross-functional team members to administer contracts and reporting for electricity procured and settled under long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). This role plays a key role in operationalizing and managing a large renewable energy portfolio of projects to further the organization's decarbonization goals.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage Long-Term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
Monitor and resolve issues that arise during contract administration and recommend appropriate responses to issues and disputes.
Streamline and enforce processes to ensure contracts are managed, settled efficiently and accurately, and are in compliance with terms and regulatory obligations.
Ensure contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
Proactively stay abreast of legal and contractual obligations and recommend necessary improvements.
Ensure clear communication and alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
Act as an internal resource regarding contract management best practices, management of stakeholder and counterparty relationships, staff members and the community.
Participate in negotiations for long-term contracts and off-take agreements.
Stay up-to-date regarding the development and operation of energy generation technologies such as wind, biomass, geothermal, solar and hydroelectric.
Support regulatory and compliance efforts, including assisting in annual compliance filings on an as-needed basis.
This requires:
Master's degree in business, engineering, economics, OR relevant and equivalent work experience
Expert Knowledge of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
At least 5 years' experience in the energy industry with an electric utility, CCA, Power Marketer, independent power producer or renewable energy/energy storage developer
At least 5 years' contract management experience
3 plus years of energy contract management experience focused on market-participating wholesale off-take agreements
Working knowledge of wholesale electricity markets, power generation technologies, WSPP, EEI, Power Purchase Agreements, Energy Storage Agreements and Tolling Agreements
An understanding of: contract management best practices, power transactions and scheduling process, CAISO settlements process, charge codes, and application, CA Renewables Portfolio Standard, WREGIS, Power Source Disclosure, Resource Adequacy and Capacity
Proficiency in MS Office applications with strong Excel skills
