The Environmental Engineering and Consulting team delivers solutions for complex environmental challenges using our regulatory expertise and implementing practical and cost-effective compliance management processes and programs. We address our clients' biggest concerns around permitting, ecoservices, assessment, and remediation.
Our highly trained and experienced engineers and scientists, environmental and remediation specialists, geologists, hydrogeologists, biologists, and environmental compliance specialists work with both public- and private-sector clients, delivering turnkey solutions.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Our Project Professional (Air Focus) position is located in Sandy Springs, GA, just outside Atlanta. This role has the potential to be hybrid depending on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
Working under the guidance of a Project Manager, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Support a variety of clients with their air compliance and permitting needs
Act as a technical and project lead on a variety of air permitting and compliance projects, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with senior staff as needed.
Manage projects independently while delegate tasks and mentor staff
Understand the process to assess facilities for applicability to air emissions regulations
Tracks budgets and schedules of active projects providing real time updates to the Project Manager
Assist with proposal preparations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Engineering or Environmental Studies; Advanced Degree preferred
5+ years of related experience
Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS etc.)
General knowledge of environmental compliance and environmental engineering principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leaders.
Proven safety culture
A valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to travel (<10%)
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced knowledge of air permit applications (PSD, NNSR, Title V, Synthetic Minor/FESOP, True Minor), permit submittal components (emissions calculations/inventories, BACT/LAER/RACT determinations, air dispersion modeling [AERMOD, CALPUFF], regulatory applicability, air permitting assessments and notifications, ongoing compliance reports (ACCs, semiannual reports, emissions inventories/statements), EPCRA reporting (Tier II and TRI), GHG mandatory reporting, and ongoing compliance management.
Working knowledge of air modeling guidance and processors (e.x. AERMOD, CMAQ)
Complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classes
Consulting experience directly related to air permitting/modeling
