As we support this company to grow their project management team we are looking for a Director or Senior Director to lead the team!
You will oversee the entire lifecycle of solar PV and PV+BESS projects from contract execution through to final commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy project management, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Ideally you will also have people management experience or/and strong leadership skills.
We are only accepting candidates with renewable energy experience at this time. The role is based 3 days a week on site in Hanford, California.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
Contract Management: Review and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, procurement, construction, and commissioning personnel, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the lifecycle, implementing contingency plans as necessary.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all project activities adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, promoting a culture of safety and compliance on-site.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and final project deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in project management within the renewable energy sector, specifically solar PV and BESS projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
Strong understanding of PV system design, installation, and commissioning processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
Knowledge of local regulations and permitting processes related to solar energy projects.
