JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Product Development SVP shapes the organization's product management strategy, aligning it with business objectives and the market landscape. This individual oversees the product portfolio, allocating resources, managing budgets, and tracking project performance using key performance indicators. They provide leadership, nurturing a culture of excellence among their team and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Their responsibilities include evaluating project proposals, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and spearheading change management initiatives. With a focus on strategy, portfolio management, leadership, and communication, this Director drives successful projects while fostering a collaborative work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, resource allocation, and prioritization.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of product managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure project outcomes align with business objectives.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and execute the product management strategy, aligning it with business goals and objectives.
  • Continuously assess project portfolios to ensure alignment with evolving business strategies and market conditions.

Portfolio Management:
  • Oversee the portfolio of product engagements, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, resource allocation, and prioritization.
  • Allocate and optimize resources to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards and processes.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring expenses and financial performance.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project performance.
  • Implement and adapt project management methodologies based on project requirements.
  • Address project issues, conflicts, and roadblocks promptly.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation.

Team Leadership:
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of product managers and coordinators.
  • Invest in the professional growth and development of team members.
  • Anticipate future resource needs and collaborate with HR.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Leverage project management software and tools.

Project Initiation:
  • Evaluate project proposals, define project scopes, objectives, and success criteria, and secure necessary approvals and resources.

Stakeholder Communication:
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Present project updates, progress, and performance to executive leadership.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and problem-solving within project teams.

Change Management:
  • Lead change management efforts related to projects.
  • Allocate and reallocate resources as needed.

EDUCATION:
  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Management (Required)

EXPERIENCE:
  • 15+ years in Product Management, including product strategy, product roadmap development, feature prioritization, and product launch (Required)
  • 10+ years in Digital/Tech/Agency Experience (Preferred)
  • 5+ years in People Management Experience (Preferred)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Product management, strategic marketing, business strategy, business implementation, and/or consulting experience in Advertising, Tech, or Life Sciences industry.
  • Knowledge of technical and scientific details of biopharmaceutical advertising.
  • Credible discussing current and future trends in the industry.
  • Extensive background in Digital Production and Product Management.
  • Experience defining and delivering successful digital products and experiences.
  • Good understanding of UX best practices and ability to partner with Experience Design, UX, and Visual leads.
  • Good understanding of technology and emerging technologies.
  • Previous management experience for digital agency, external agency partners, and client partners.
  • Agile/Lean Development knowledge, training, or experience.
  • Experience making data-driven decisions.
  • Experience creating clear, detailed, concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and artifacts.
  • Experience creating release plans and roadmaps.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organization skills.

Salary

$210,000 - $275,000 annually.

The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
