Job Description:

Supervise and coordinate assigned groups of technicians to form an efficient operating group to provide metrology services as required to meet the requests from all sources at the site. Advise and make recommendations in regards to Instrumentation and Production Process Control repairs, upgrades, and new installations to meet production needs, and cGMP standards. Maintain current expertise in performance of all technical metrology activities for manning support and training of technicians. Serve as System Administrator of the Blue Mountain Calibration Manager System.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Plan, assign, schedule, and evaluate work of metrology technicians.
  • Hire, train, assess, and develop the skills of new metrology personnel.
  • Promptly inform management of instrumentation/metrology problems that may result in significant production downtime or product loss.
  • Initiate, review, and implement calibration procedures and documentation as required by cGMP guidelines.
  • Maintain department moral and evaluate personnel in a fair and consistent manner in compliance with company policies.
  • Review the training activities and performance of technicians and coordinate with them in establishing an applicable training plan for each technician.
  • Evaluate instrument performance and other information sources for the purpose of updating or replacing equipment or procedures to insure that cGMP standards are maintained.
  • Review completed calibration records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure that the "Calibration Manager" program is operating correctly and that all operating procedures are followed in accordance with current SOP's.
  • Keep current with improvements in instrumentation, equipment, processes, materials, methods, and metrology technology to assure the most appropriate, efficient, and economical recommendations are made for the site operations.
  • Review current publications and attend lectures, seminars, trade shows, etc. for the purpose of maintaining current knowledge of general metrology operations.
  • Enforce company polices and to recommend, document, and perform disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Science
  • 5-10 years metrology experience
  • 10 or more years of related experience
  • Lead experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Pharmaceutical experience
  • FDA Regulated industry experience
  • Must have extensive experience using Calibration Software.
  • Must have extensive Personal Computer experience with word processor and application software's.
  • Experience in Technical Writing and documentation requirements.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of instrumentation or electronics experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment or other regulated industry.
  • Maintenance of low voltage electrical experience is a plus.

Shift: Weekend Days

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $79,671 - $107,797 depending on experience. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibits outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
