The Manufacturing Manager at VIVA Railings is responsible for managing and overseeing daily production activities to ensure efficient operations, quality control, and timely delivery of custom architectural railing systems. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement, managing production schedules, optimizing resource allocation, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability within the manufacturing team. The Manufacturing Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deliver exceptional products to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and project deadlines are consistently met.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems to optimize production processes, eliminate waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Coordinate with project management teams to align production schedules with project requirements and timelines.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and mentor the shop supervisor, production coordinator, and the fabrication team fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set individual goals, and develop training programs to support team growth and development.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing safety policies and addressing concerns promptly.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, and industry regulations, maintaining high-quality control and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Develop and implement robust quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality products consistently.

Resource Planning & Optimization:
  • Work with Inventory and Purchasing teams to ensure adequate supplies and efficient use of resources.
  • Work with the Shop to ensure that all equipment have scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize down time.
  • Monitor and report on production metrics, including labor efficiency, production output, and on-time delivery.

Process Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Identify and integrate new technologies, equipment, and systems to maintain a competitive advantage in production processes.
  • Collaborate with the Design and R&D teams to ensure the seamless integration of new designs and prototypes into the manufacturing process.

Financial & Operational Oversight:
  • Assist in preparing and managing the manufacturing budget, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure effective utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to achieve cost targets and project margins.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, with a mandatory focus on metal fabrication and architectural products.

Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a proven track record of driving performance and improvements.
  • Proficiency in production planning, resource management, and process optimization.
  • Experience with implanting automation in manufacturing
  • Experience with robotic fabrication
  • Proficiency in generating and presenting reports on manufacturing performance indicators
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, quality management systems, and ERP software.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
