Role Description
This is a full-time Opportunity for an on-site role with our major client as an Optical Design & Metrology Engineer located in Santa Clara County. As an Optical Design & Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing measurement technologies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in optical testing processes. Your main focus in the role is to support the client's project needs.
Qualifications: • PhD with 2+ years of experience or Undergraduate degree with 5+ years of experience in a similar setting. • Prior experience with optical systems and instruments. • Familiarity with metrology test equipment such as Optofidelity or similar. • Prior experience withWaveguide technology for AR glasses applications. • Strong background in optical design and metrology. • Proficiency in Zemax, FRED, CODEV, or LIGHTTOOLS. • Experience in Python programming for debugging and automation. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Support optical test technicians and operators.
Set up measurement setups, test benches, and perform data analysis.
Carry out measurements, metrology, and alignment tasks.
Troubleshoot metrology methods and tester failures.
Evaluate optical metrology systems.
Perform metrology studies, tester tuning, and data analysis.
Conduct optical design and simulation using Zemax, FRED, CODEV, or LIGHTTOOLS.
Develop software in Python for debugging, data processing, and automating processes.
