As an Assistant Superintendent for large-scale mixed-use projects, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects, contributing to the growth and excellence of our company. You will work closely with the Senior Superintendent, project management team, and various stakeholders to oversee construction operations, maintain quality standards, and meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Oversight:
Collaborate with the Senior Superintendent to plan and execute construction activities for multi-unit apartment projects.
Ensure that construction work adheres to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor progress, inspect work for quality, and identify and resolve construction issues as they arise.
Subcontractor Coordination:
Assist in the selection and management of subcontractors, ensuring they meet project requirements, schedules, and quality expectations.
Maintain a strong working relationship with subcontractors and facilitate communication between them and the project team.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce and promote a culture of safety on the job site, ensuring that all workers and subcontractors adhere to safety regulations.
Stay updated on local building codes and regulations to ensure compliance throughout the project.
Schedule Management:
Assist in creating and managing project schedules, ensuring that work progresses on time and within budget.
Identify potential delays and work with the project team to implement mitigation strategies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, safety logs, and project documentation.
Assist with progress reporting and updates to project management and stakeholders.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve construction-related issues and challenges, working collaboratively with the project team to find practical solutions.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications.
