Salary: $75,000-$95,000
Developer/Builder with a footprint across multiple states, that have developed, built, and managed over 50,000 multifamily apartments, looking to add a Project Engineer to their team in their Charlotte office.
Position Overview: The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of multifamily construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while working on some of the most exciting and impactful residential developments in the region.
The Project Engineer - Multifamily Construction responsibilities are:
Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the day-to-day coordination and management of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Prepare, organize, and maintain construction documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project schedules. Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, codes, and regulations.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Monitor subcontractor performance and quality, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
Be on site and assist in overseeing the work of subcontractors to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders, including the owner, architect, subcontractors, and internal team members. Ensure that all parties are informed of project progress, changes, and key decisions.
The ideal Project Engineer - Multifamily Construction will have:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
1-3 years of experience in construction, preferably in multifamily or residential construction projects. Previous experience in a project engineering or assistant project management role is a plus.
Familiarity with construction software such as Procore. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Basic understanding of construction plans, specifications, and construction codes.
Understanding of construction methods, materials, and project workflows, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
