The Opportunity:
Brooksource is seeking to hire a Field Technician II on behalf of one of Florida's largest & most innovative Universities. In this role you will be dedicated to ensuring the safety, functionality, cleanliness, efficiency, and attractiveness of the campus living and learning environment. As a Field Technician II, you will play a crucial role in troubleshooting, servicing, and responding to customer and staff requests. Utilizing intermediate-level skills, you will be responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and operation of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with national and state plumbing codes.
Responsibilities:
Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PDM) tasks to identify and prevent potential failures.
Install, maintain, test, and calibrate plumbing components for bathrooms, laboratories, and kitchens.
Operate and troubleshoot pumps, faucets, valves, traps, water heaters, and sewage systems.
Support central shops, contractors, and other departments and perform routine and project work.
Timely completion of work orders, accurate record-keeping, and reporting of deficiencies.
Collaborate with teams, ensure compliance with safety guidelines, and participate in coaching Plumber I staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed as a plumber in the State of Florida and 2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant experience to include commercial and/or corporate environments.
Working knowledge of plumbing trades tools, materials, and safety procedures.
Capable of applying critical thinking skills and working independently.
Leadership skills including delegation, training, and motivation of individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences.
Experience reading blueprints and using electrical meters.
Ability to use various computer programs, including and/or equivalent to Microsoft Office and the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS).
Flexible for urgent requirements and capable of managing inventories.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with customers and team members, operate and interpret the functions of electronic equipment (iPod Touch for AiM PM checkpoints), comprehend standard safety procedures, and utilize telecommunication devices.
Additional Applicant Materials Required:
Two (2) professional references from current or previous supervisor/manager.
A copy of the plumber license.
Health Assessment:
UCF Policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
