Logistics Specialist - Contract - Onsite: Santa Ana, CA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Logistics & Inventory Management Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on managing inventory reconciliation, supporting warehouse operations, and coordinating logistics through advanced data analysis and ERP systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience in inventory management, WMS systems, and supply chain operations. This is an office-based role, with regular collaboration with offsite warehouses.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Reconciliation:
Oversee inventory reconciliation, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data in the system. This includes managing inventory records, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues beyond just cycle counting.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Leverage advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Graphs) to analyze inventory data, generate reports, and provide insights on inventory performance and trends. Regular use of Excel for large-scale data analysis is a key part of this role.
WMS System Management:
Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), specifically SAP, to track inventory transactions, manage system discrepancies, and monitor overall warehouse efficiency. Experience with other WMS platforms (WMP, NERP) is a plus.
Supply Chain & Logistics Support:
Provide ongoing support for supply chain and logistics operations. Collaborate with internal teams and offsite warehouses to ensure smooth inventory flow and resolve issues related to system transactions.
Communication & Coordination:
Work closely with offsite warehouses and other departments, coordinating schedules, materials, and production demands. You will be responsible for communicating issues, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple teams.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within inventory management, logistics, and supply chain operations. Help streamline workflows and reduce inefficiencies.
Reporting & Documentation:
Compile and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, production schedules, and other key metrics. Create and present regular reports on inventory status and other critical data to management.
Top Must-Have Skills & Experience:
Advanced Excel Skills:
Must be proficient in advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and creating data visualizations (graphs/charts) for reporting.
Inventory Management & Reconciliation:
Experience in managing and reconciling inventory data, beyond simple cycle counting. Ability to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
WMS & ERP Systems Experience:
Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably SAP, as well as other ERP systems (WMP, NERP). You will work extensively with these systems to track transactions and resolve issues.
Supply Chain & Logistics Knowledge:
Basic understanding of supply chain operations and logistics processes is required. Ability to manage logistics schedules, and material requirements, and resolve related issues.
Attention to Detail & Accuracy:
Must have a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of data entry, reporting, and inventory management.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with offsite warehouses, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
A background in the consumer electronics or home appliance industry is preferred, but not required.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
Experience:
A minimum of 4-5+ years of relevant experience in logistics, inventory management, WMS systems, and ERP systems. Experience with SAP is highly preferred.
Additional Details:
Overtime:
The candidate may be required to work occasional overtime (up to 5-10 hours per week) based on operational needs.
Work Environment:
This is an office-based role, focused on inventory management and logistics operations. We are not seeking candidates with direct warehouse floor or order processing experience but rather candidates with experience in warehouse operations from an office/operational perspective
