Loyal Source Government Services is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager - Medical to work Remotely with our Corporate Team.
Job Summary:
This position is a full-time remote Medical Quality Assurance Manager position working for Loyal Source Government Services (LSGS) supporting prime contracts, programs, and subcontracts throughout the United States. The Manager supports the corporation's VA MDE program performing corporate level independent detailed reviews of recently completed Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) using the Disability Questionnaire (DBQ) to validate Loyal Healthcare quality performance. The evaluation may encompass over 80 different DBQs where medical providers have completed their examination and have documented the results in accordance with all written guidance and VA policies. These examinations are performed across the United States on behalf of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
The Medical Quality Assurance Manager performs detailed reviews of completed DBQs to provide quality oversight of Loyal Source's MDE program. They are responsible for assessing the output quality of hundreds of Providers located at over 100 clinics in the United States. There are over 80 different DBQs used to determine and assess the disability of Veterans. The focus of the Medical Quality Assurance Manager's review includes detailed step-by-step verification and validation of each entry and an assessment of the medical language and assessments made by the Provider. The results of the review determine a quality score with a goal of 96% overall. The program being set up provides Loyal Source with the ability to assess our performance at each of our clinics (over 120) prior to the VA performing their limited assessments at the region level. Loyal Source must, under contract and per the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) present acceptable quality reports and DBQs at all times. The Medical Quality Assurance (MQA) Manager provides insight into the individual Providers performance, tracks trends for potential improvements, and identifies corrective actions before sending DBQs to the VA.
Other duties the MQA Manager may be involved with as part of the LSGS Corporate Quality team include:
The MQA Manager participates with other QA managers to review requirements, identify controls, develop audit checklists, perform oversight activities, and perform assessments of contractual requirements, environmental and safety checks, local statutes, laws, and regulations, as well as other unique requirements during periods of high production start-up or ramp ups.
The MQA Manager may support site specific evaluations during Ramp Up activities to assure full compliance with the contract, subcontract, the Quality Management Plan, Risk Management Plan, and the Project Management Plan/Work Breakdown Schedule. Initial clinic checklists and mature clinic checklists include criteria and requirements to be evaluated, documented, and tracked.
The MQA Manager may assist and oversee quality and program management activities pre and post ATO (Authorization to Operate) certification from the customer. Using the Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology, the MQA Manager assures all quality and performance objectives and measures are identified, tracked, managed, and acted upon as necessary.
The MQA Manager may support oversight visits to operational offices, clinics, Provider Network and other locations to ensure all activities are properly documented in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Policies, Instructions, and recorded in the appropriate automated system. The MQA Manager may support the development of the checklists used at the clinic level and used in the baseline validation documents to assure full compliance.
Assist and develop and recommend corrective action plans to address identified non-compliance issues.
Assist and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks to ensure continuous compliance.
Support updates to inspection protocols and training materials to reflect any new requirements.
Help to maintain organized records of all inspections, findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
Participate and collaborate with clinic management and MDE leadership to implement corrective actions in a timely manner as necessary.
Perform follow-up inspections as necessary to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented and that the clinics are in compliance with VA MDE and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Develop and recommend corrective action plans to address identified non-compliance issues.
Requirements:
Recent work performed within the medical field under major US Government Agencies such as Customs and Border Protection, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Centers for Disease Control, Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement, or other major agencies at the State level performing similar services. Microsoft Office 365, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a valid driver's license.
Knowledge- a comprehensive understanding of the principles of quality control, quality assurance and program management in a variety of industries including Federal and State Government, Military and Healthcare.
Skill- Competence with QA Methodologies, audit techniques, data collection and analysis, root cause analysis, and excellent writing and briefing skills.
Ability- Capability to analyze data and present observations of overall quality and program management practices, overseeing large programs with critical data and information, trend analysis, and other quality tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (5 years of medical or healthcare quality assurance related experience may be considered equivalent to a bachelor's degree). 10 years of experience in the quality field, healthcare or medical field is a must. Experience with ISO 9001:2015 certification a plus. Experience implementing and/or auditing a program to meet ISO 9001:2015 is desired. Experience working at a corporate level implementing ISO 9001:2015 clauses is desired. Understanding through proven performance and experience of the general medical requirements and process controls necessary to fully implement a healthcare Quality Management System.
