Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Digital IC Designer to join our innovative Mixed Signal Products team in Scottsdale, AZ. As a key contributor to the digital IC design process, you will work closely with the world's best analog designers to develop high-performance mixed-signal ICs that cater to both consumer and automotive markets. Your focus will be on embedding power-efficient custom digital cores within these designs.

This role requires deep expertise in digital IC design, including custom digital core development and experience optimizing for low power. Familiarity with ARM, DSP Cores and RISC-V architectures is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Digital IC Design: Design and develop custom digital cores that are highly power-efficient, tailored for mixed-signal chips in audio, haptics, and power management applications.
  • Low-Power Design: Focus on designing for low-power consumption, especially in battery-powered consumer and automotive applications.
  • Architecture Development: Work with architects and system designers to develop innovative digital architectures that integrate seamlessly with analog blocks, driving superior performance in mixed-signal ICs.
  • Digital Design Flow: Lead the digital design process, including RTL design, verification, synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and power optimization.
  • Collaboration with Analog Teams: Collaborate closely with analog designers to ensure the seamless integration of analog and digital components, helping create the best mixed-signal chips in the industry.
  • Power Optimization: Implement techniques for power optimization, including clock gating, power gating, and dynamic voltage scaling, to meet strict power requirements.
  • Verification & Validation: Develop verification environments and contribute to validation plans for robust digital designs that meet performance and power specifications.
  • Technology Adoption: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in low-power design, digital architecture, and IC development methodologies, including the adoption of ARM, DSP core and RISC-V architectures.

Required Qualifications:
  • Expert-level experience in digital IC design, with a proven track record in designing and optimizing power-efficient custom digital cores.
  • Experience with RTL design, synthesis, and verification for mixed-signal ICs.
  • In-depth knowledge of low-power design techniques for embedded systems, including clock gating, power gating, and voltage scaling.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard digital design and verification tools (e.g., Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, UVM, Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor).
  • Strong understanding of ARM, DSP or RISC-V architectures and their application in low-power, high-performance systems.
  • Experience collaborating with analog/mixed-signal teams to deliver high-quality, integrated mixed-signal solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in the digital implementation process, from design to tape-out, including synthesis, place & route, and timing closure.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with DSP and RISC-V architectures and the customization of DSP cores for specialized applications.
  • Experience with ARM-based embedded systems, especially in low-power environments.
  • Automotive IC experience, including knowledge of safety, reliability, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
  • Experience in designing ICs for consumer electronics, with an understanding of the challenges related to power, form factor, and performance.
