We are currently seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced House Manager to join our team at our developmental disability group home.
Position Overview: The House Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a group home for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role is integral in ensuring that the residents receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. The House Manager will supervise staff, manage household operations, and support residents in achieving their personal goals and maintaining a high quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision: Supervise, train, and support direct care staff to ensure the highest level of care for residents. Ensure staff adhere to company policies and procedures and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Resident Support: Assist residents in daily living activities, including personal care, meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, and recreational activities.
Program Implementation: Coordinate and oversee the implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring that each resident's physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Health & Safety: Ensure the health and safety of all residents by maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment. Administer medications as needed and monitor residents' health conditions in collaboration with medical professionals.
Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times. Coordinate with family members, healthcare providers, and community services to support resident needs.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on residents' progress, incidents, and any other relevant information. Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies.
Budget Management: Oversee the budget for household supplies, groceries, and other necessary items, ensuring cost-effective and efficient management of resources.
Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies and behavioral incidents appropriately, implementing de-escalation strategies and seeking support from external professionals as necessary.
Community Engagement: Encourage residents' participation in community activities and advocate for their inclusion and independence in various social, vocational, and recreational settings.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a group home, residential facility, or similar setting working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Education: A high school diploma or GED required; a degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of developmental disabilities, behavior management techniques, and healthcare procedures.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and medication administration certification preferred, or the willingness to obtain within the first 90 days.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Background check and drug screening required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist residents with mobility as needed.
