A Day in the Life of an EIC Manager
As the EIC Manager, you will oversee the electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering team, ensuring successful project execution from start to finish. You'll guide and mentor engineers, manage project timelines and budgets, and collaborate with other disciplines to deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-effective solutions. This role is crucial to our client's mission to innovate and provide industry-leading engineering services.
Responsibilities include:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of EIC engineers and designers.
Assign tasks and manage workloads to ensure efficiency.
Conduct performance reviews and identify team training needs.
Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Review and approve EIC deliverables, including designs, calculations, and specifications.
Develop and manage EIC engineering budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, etc.) to ensure project integration.
Support procurement of EIC equipment and materials.
Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
Implement and maintain quality control and safety standards.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and team performance.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in EIC engineering within the EPC industry.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with the ability to stamp and approve drawings.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of managing and mentoring engineering teams.
In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, ISA, IEC).
Proficiency with EIC design software and tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and solve complex problems.
Willingness to travel (up to 25%) and work onsite (80-90% of the time).
