Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Superintendent to oversee and manage all mechanical aspects of our operations in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in a demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Mechanical Operations: Lead and manage all mechanical maintenance and repair activities, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
Team Management: Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of skilled mechanical technicians.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual mechanical maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Equipment Optimization: Implement strategies to optimize equipment performance, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency.
Project Management: Oversee and manage mechanical aspects of capital projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality workmanship and adherence to industry best practices.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in a mechanical superintendent or similar role in a heavy industrial setting.
Proven track record of leading and managing mechanical teams.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, piping systems, and HVAC equipment.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
Proficiency in CMMS software and other relevant computer systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
