Job Summary:
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire manufacturing operations process within Boar's Head Brand. This individual will play a key role in the development, implementation, and management of strategies to ensure operational excellence, production efficiency, and alignment with the company's strategic goals. The VP of Operations will ensure the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions:
Directs and coordinates the activities as assigned to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations while also meeting production needs and requirements consistently.
Develop and execute strategic operational plans that align with company goals
Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing and distribution facilities, ensuring high efficiency and quality standards
Instills a culture of safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility across all manufacturing sites; adhering to local, federal, and company regulations.
Manages budgeted capital expenditure plans via Engineering team that aligns with short-term and long-term needs and strategies.
Oversees and administers manufacturing budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met while maintaining adherence to approved expenditures.
Plans, develops, and implements policies and goals of subordinate leadership teams.
Confers with team to review activity and operational reports to determine changes in programs or operations if required or as necessary.
Leads, nurtures, and develops geographically dispersed teams of manufacturing professionals through effective coaching, mentorship, talent development, and performance management.
Determines staffing requirements to ensure effectiveness of facilities, while maintaining operational budget.
Ensures that company policies and work rules regarding HACCP, GMP and SOP are up-to-date and being consistently applied at all facilities.
Champions continuous improvement programs/initiatives to minimize waste, elevate efficiency, and improve productivity across all locations.
Manages the Learning and Development operations leader and guides them for continuous improvement with employee engagement.
Assesses and mitigates risks affecting operations and create robust contingency plans to safeguard business continuity.
Collaborates with finance, sales, information technology, marketing and human resources.
Attends scheduled meetings as required.
Submit operational reports as required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, operations management or related field.
10+ year's experience in a food processing environment, with at least five (5) in a leadership role. Experience leading multiple sites is preferred but not required.
USDA ready to eat meat food processing experience preferred.
Demonstrated competence in building, leading, and developing high-performing teams.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration:
Certifications in lean manufacturing such as but not limited to Lean Six Sigma, Lean Management, Lean Principles, and Lean Production is helpful, but not required. Implementing such strategies preferred.
