A Network Engineer working directly with our end client in staff augmentation role. Successful candidate will:
Work as a member of a team to provide ongoing maintenance and implementation of our client network infrastructure.
Work independently on selected tasks and projects as assigned.
Ensures stability, availability, reliability and security of the production network environment.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various technical and non-technical factors.
Perform daily problem resolution, preventive maintenance and performance tuning, all within best practice standards.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for:
Responsible for rapid and efficient day-to-day problem analysis and resolution techniques.
Coordinates WAN connections to remote sites to ensure proper integration with LAN environment.
Provides backup support to telecommunications and enterprise network projects.
Interfaces with present and potential customers, many of whom are a part of a very complex, integrated network.
Responsible for implementing the strategies necessary to reach our objectives.
Provides leadership to Support Analysts on day-to-day network troubleshooting issues as it relates to desktop or telephone support.
Analyzes client requirements and recommends appropriate hardware and software solutions to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Be available outside of business hours to perform network tasks, as necessary
Assist on network & security projects. Knowledge of Cisco, Aruba for route/switch and Aruba wireless.
Monitor Fresh tickets queue and assigned to SPAN FNOC where applicable.
Can troubleshoot Cisco CUCM and UCCX.
Knowledge of routing.
Quick learner and able to be confident and jump in while learning.
Proficient in English.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelors Related Field or Five (5) years' experience in related field.
Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work on projects both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to troubleshoot issues within all aspects of Information Technology.
Ability to deal with a rapid and fast paced changing environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time, and able to manage ongoing operational issues with longer term strategic work.
Tech Requirements:
Ability to understand, recommend, and implement LAN/WLAN/WAN functionality.
Must have a good understanding of Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, VoIP and wireless systems as well as comfort with most common network concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS.
