Description:
Working with a food manufacturer in the Bedford Heights, OH area seeking a skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the activities of our food packaging and processing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety regulations, production processes, and team management. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets. This is a 2nd shift opportunity.



Responsibilities

• 
  Production Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, quality assurance, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor production progress and make adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency and quality.
• 
  Team Management:
  • Lead and supervise a team of production workers, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Motivate and empower the team to achieve production goals while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly and effectively.
• 
  Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure adherence to strict food safety and quality standards, including GMPs, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to identify and rectify any issues.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality problems.
• 
  Equipment Maintenance:
  • Monitor the condition of production equipment and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.
• 
  Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
• 
  Safety Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular safety training and promote a culture of safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in food production or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and GMPs.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including production software and Microsoft Office.
