The Senior Requirements Engineer's responsibility is to lead the definition of a product vision to ensure the customer experience and business needs are reflected in a product's technical design and delivered solution. In this role, the Analyst actively manages requirements from design to delivery, working as a liaison with the technical development teams and business sponsors.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Requirements Management: Elicit, analyze, document and validate project requirements leading to the development of new applications or enhancements to existing systems and business processes.
Solution Development: Translate business issues and needs into comprehensive requirements to devise effective solutions.
Process Oversight: Manage the end-to-end requirements process, utilizing appropriate tools to define processes and approaches for each project, and handle issue resolution.
Peer Reviews and Client Support: Conduct peer reviews and assist clients in evaluating the impact and opportunities presented by new technologies to enable new capabilities.
Cost/Benefit Analysis: Support cost/benefit estimations and review delivery team estimates to insure accuracy
Documentation and User Stories: Prepare detailed requirements packages, create user stories, participate in grooming sessions, and manage requirements traceability and artifacts. Develop reference and resource materials as needed.
Technical Review and Testing: Review final technical designs/solutions and help coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure all requirements are met.
Project Lifecycle Participation: Engage across the project lifecycle team to ensure stakeholder specifications are fully met.
Required Skills and Expertise:
Proficiency in requirements management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall) and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Strong understanding of business processes, applications, and systems.
Excellent negotiation skills and experience in Request for Proposal (RFP) development and technical evaluation.
Senior-level technical expertise with deep knowledge of telecommunications technologies.
Experience in conducting cost/benefit analysis
Ability to facilitate large groups, conduct peer reviews and assist clients in technology assessment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Typically requires 5-8 years of experience in a related role.
