Sr Recruiter

We are looking for a Sr Recruiter based in the Detroit Metro area who will be engaged in attracting, sourcing and hiring the best talent to meet current and future business needs ensuring speed, sustainability and best in class recruitment. This position plays a key role in supporting global recruiting activities and building the candidate experience; often providing candidates with their first impression of Oerlikon. Working within a global team of existing specialists, this role will work effectively with internal and external vendors and candidates as directed to support sourcing and selection processes and will partner with hiring managers and members of the HR Team to address staffing needs.

Location: Metro Detroit Area

Your Responsibilities:


  • Create an aggressive and bold sourcing strategy with existing global and if needed specific local social media channels, bodies of knowledge agencies, beyond post/pray methods. This includes aggressively sourcing, engaging and recruiting top talent be it internal or external using multiple creative techniques that also include the traditional volume providers of LinkedIn Recruiter or job boards. Comfortable with blogs, user groups, and professional associations to find & recruit top talent.
  • Source candidates through various channels, planning and conducting interviews, taking part in selection and assessment procedures and hosting or participating in career events.
  • Headhunt - cold calling, introducing our opportunities, presenting the EVP and transition candidates to applicants; messaging and managing of interview screens and schedules, in some cases the arrangement of travel for visiting candidates
  • Deliver a market-leading and tailored candidate experience following in place processes to attract talent and promote the global employer brand. Act as the brand ambassador, the first point of contact to potential new employees; represent the Brand, build candidate trust.
  • Prescreen and interview using behavioral based techniques and provide summaries and recommendations to hiring managers.
Your Profile:


  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years full cycle recruitment experience in manufacturing (both corporate & plant) to include high volume hourly as well as professional level recruiting.
  • Seven years sourcing experience with special emphasis on using tools and recruitments practices to identify, engage, and convert the best talent into Oerlikon employees (AI, AIRS or LinkedIn Recruiter certification highly desirable.)
  • Comprehensive behavioral based interviewing and candidate assessment skills (Lominger or DDI Targeted Selection preferred.)
  • Seven or more years of experience assessing and identifying the needs of Hiring Manager/search needs and developing and implementing creative diversity recruitment strategies across a large organization.
  • Experience with ATS / CRMs (SuccessFactors preferred.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software.)
