Position Summary

The Accountant II manages and supervises accounting and operational activities and prepares financial statements and reports for MSU Health Care.

Characteristic Duties - Responsibilities:

Researches, prepares and verifies the accuracy of financial statements and reports in order to provide information.

Develops, implements and oversees accounting controls for MSU Health Care.

Prepares and reviews general journal accounting entries and reconciles departmental records.

Assists in developing MSU Health Care financial policies and procedures.

Follows up on delinquent accounts in order to achieve higher collection rates.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervision, accounting procedures and developing accounting controls, policies and procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
