With recent significant expansion in our research portfolios, particularly related to research on pediatric health equity, The Center for Healthcare Delivery Science (CHDS) at Nemours Children's Health is pleased to announce the availability of a new faculty position for a mid or senior career faculty member. This position is based in Delaware and is attached to our newly funded Research Expanding Access to Child Health (REACH) Center, funded by an NIH Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant (1P20GM144270). The goals of the REACH Center are to provide the mentorship and infrastructure to launch and sustain programs of research focused on using stakeholder engaged methods to develop, evaluate, and implement technology-enhanced interventions to reduce inequities in child health.
The ideal candidate will hold an MD, MD/PhD, PhD or other doctoral degree in a health-related discipline and demonstrate evidence of collaborative academic productivity and prior success in obtaining funding for healthcare delivery science research. We invite applications from qualified researchers in any pertinent discipline. Areas of emphasis for the position include, but are not limited to, health equity, implementation science, technology- enhanced interventions, intervention science, and health economics. A portion of this position can be dedicated to clinical service in the candidate's professional specialty if desired. Nemours research scientists typically have faculty appointments in the Department of Pediatrics of Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
The CHDS ( https://www.nemours.org/pediatric-research/area/health-care-delivery-science.html ) is a research center across the Nemours enterprise. Anne E. Kazak, Ph.D., ABPP is the enterprise director, Melissa A. Alderfer, Ph.D. is the Center Director in Delaware and Susana R. Patton, Ph.D., ABPP is the Center Director in Florida. Research projects span a variety of topics, including resilience, experiences of adversity (e.g., housing instability, post-partum depression, racism, caregiver loss, maltreatment) including specific medical conditions (diabetes, cancer, cardiac conditions, obesity, sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic pain), transition to adult healthcare, and other resources and challenges (early care and education, COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, environmental justice, cardiovascular risks) in child health. We have a dedicated biostatistician, data analysts, and an inhouse group of clinical research coordinators to support studies. Nemours is also a member of PEDSNet, providing access to electronic health record data, and other databases. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.
All inquiries will be treated confidentially. Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and cover letter Dana Berger, MPH, Program Administrator ( Dana.Berger@nemours.org )
