Vice President, Air Global Commercial Trips Partnerships
The Vice President, Air Global Commercial Trips Partnerships, will report to the Senior Vice President of Trips Partnerships and is uniquely positioned to help innovate, delight travelers, engage and grow our air partnerships, drive success for Expedia Group through strategic leadership, effective management and a sharp focus on excellence.
As a key member on the Trips Leadership Team, you will lead a team of global Sr Directors, Directors, and Account Managers to achieve business objectives as well as partner closely with support teams (including but not limited to Revenue Optimization, Commercial Finance, Analytics, Customer Support, Product and Tech).
Success will stem from your passion to grow business with current and new partners. In this role, you will become a well-known leader in the travel industry as you develop a senior public profile that involves public speaking events, industry trade events and media opportunities.
What you'll do:
Drive Commercial Excellence: Strong commercial mindset and expert knowledge to lead the Air org and deliver healthy growth; coaching focused on negotiations, analytics, problem solving and relationship building. Able to travel extensively as required.
Manage complex negotiations with a large portfolio of partners globally
Be accountable for the delivery of all sales goals for the Air business globally. Responsibilities include pipeline management, deal qualification, and sales execution
Ensure the team is on track to deliver against targets and address any potential roadblocks quickly, transparently, and efficiently. Proactively identify factors affecting performance and deliver timely and relevant intelligence
Develop and execute initiatives that will deliver increased efficiency and commercial excellence
Partner with the Product, Technology and Operations teams to build and deliver relevant product offerings, balancing the voice of the customer, partner and of the business
Provide impactful leadership and coaching, and create a compelling unifying vision that steers, motivates and develops the organization. Attract, hire, and engage a skilled, ambitious, passionate and results-focused commercial team, both aligned to business development and account management
Strategic planning and execution aligned to the Travel Partner & Media team strategy and deliver on cross functional roadmaps
Lead an organization of 30 + thorough change and transformation
Communicate team vision and mission across stakeholder groups to gain buy-in and drive participation
Coach leaders on creating a culture that encourages strong and broad relationships across the business and with relevant industry partners
Establish Performance Metrics: Regularly evaluate performance against targets against established financial KPIs.
Who you are:
You will have a demonstrable track-record in delivering to commercial targets , within a fast-paced, methodical and process-orientated environment
Dynamic, adaptable, proactive, and agile leader with 15+ years of commercial sales and account management experience within a fast-paced environment
A strategic thinker with knowledge of the Air industry, a high level of ambition for growth and an analytically minded approach with proven negotiation and influencing skills
You will have a strong presence and ability to provide thought leadership in the travel and hospitality industry: Speaking engagements at large industry events, podcasts, etc.
Someone with a Bias To Action: Familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, lean and fast-moving environment
Have inclusive stakeholder management and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate, organize and prioritize critical workstreams to drive business results. Demonstrate excellent business judgment and ability to move and evolve with the needs of the company
