Position Details:


Summary of Duties:


As a Student Financial Services Advisor, you will have primary responsibility for day-to-day contact, advising and guidance of students, faculty, staff, and parents in all areas of Student Financial Services. You will provide comprehensive support to the department's Pell Program among a few other federal programs. Your programmatic duties involve financial aid and Pell processing, packaging, testing, and client service support as needed. Your additional duties include but are not limited to developing communications content and editing. Your position duties and responsibilities will be performed in support of office and university vision, mission, values, and goals.



This position is primarily located on the main Pullman campus with some hybrid flexibility.





Required Qualifications:




  • Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.




  • Experience in customer service.




  • Experience working with diverse populations.




  • Developed skills in written and verbal communication, including experience with large group presentations.




  • Ability to work flexible schedules including occasional weekends/evenings.




  • Demonstrated experience interpreting rules and regulations




  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.







Preferred Qualifications:




  • Master's Degree.




  • Experience with PeopleSoft.




  • Experience with student services in a higher education setting such as Financial Aid, Scholarships, Admissions, Student Accounts, Academic Advising, Registrar, Graduate School, Athletics, and/or Housing and Dining.

Monthly Salary:


$3,750.85 - $5,397.56


In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU's Administrative Professional Compensation.
