Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach Description/Job Summary

Reporting to the Head Women's Volleyball Coach, The Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach and Athletic Director with all aspects of the Volleyball Program including recruiting, scouting, coaching, and counseling women's volleyball players.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist in supervising all activities related to the student athletes

  • Provide academic, personal, and professional mentoring to student-athletes.

  • Comply with all NJCAA rules and regulations.

  • Assists with coordinating the program's recruiting efforts by identifying and evaluating player prospects, making initial contact with potential recruits.

  • Maintain records of all recruiting contacts and keep head coach informed of recruiting efforts.

  • Make regular contact with recruits and assist with needs for enrollment into school.

  • Advise students on the admissions and financial aid processes and guidelines.

  • Assist in the establishment of the team's competition and practice schedules which includes but not limited to coordinating, locating, and scheduling of opponents, and making travel arrangements for away games.

  • Assist in the scheduling and provide assistance for opponent teams.

  • Travel with team to away games.

  • Communicate with others regarding the overall success of players.

  • Coordinate and organize equipment and gym set up.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills


Physical Demands: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Lifting (more than 50 lbs.), walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis. Occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequent travel including overnight and weekend travel is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

  • 2-years' experience in a position coaching high school or intercollegiate athletics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience in a position coaching high school or intercollegiate athletics.
