The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of dermatopathology. Experience in frozen section coverage and an additional surgical pathology subspecialty is desirable but not required. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board Certification/Eligibility in Dermatopathology and/or Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology or equivalent and an unrestricted medical license/eligibility in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include medical students, residents, and fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include participation in the Surgical Pathology service with coverage of Dermatopathology services in Penn Medicine, including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Hospital, and Pennsylvania Hospital and its affiliates. Coverage of additional pathology subspecialties will also be considered. The main practice site will be Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing an independent or highly collaborative research program as PI, co-PI, or co-I. The successful applicant will have a national reputation, evidenced by increasing scholarly productivity throughout their career and, for those considered for appointment to the rank of full professor, a record of sustained extramural funding.
