The Enterprise Server Engineer is responsible for the server and storage infrastructure in the enterprise. This role will be the technical expert in various operating systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud solutions along with ensuring stability, performance, and security of the company's IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Leads design, acquisition, implementation and support of on-premises and cloud compute and storage infrastructure.
Monitors, reconfigures, and tunes hardware and software for performance improvements and future scalability.
Analyzes infrastructure to determine and resolve inefficiencies.
Manages infrastructure projects and makes recommendations on solutions.
Stays up to date with the latest advancements in infrastructure technology and best practices.
Collaborates with Infrastructure, Data systems, SecOps, and support team in order to complete projects with minimal downtime.
Provides technical project management of various essential and high visibility hardware projects.
Provide input for design and administration decisions related to enterprise server hardware.
Provides training and mentoring to team members to promote professional development.
Investigates and troubleshoots enterprise server issues
Ensures that systems are running at optimal performance and best practice.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with IT with 2 years enterprise infrastructure required.
Proficient with Storage Area Networks, iSCSI and FibreChannel protocols, Hyper-V Clustered environments, Disaster Recovery Environments, Backup and Recovery best practices
Structured cable management experience
Have experience working in datacenter environment a plus
Experience with QNAP Storage Arrays, Dell Servers, Fortinet infrastructure, iDRAC and Ubiquiti hardware is preferred
