General Manager

Provision is a modern take on the beloved American icon, the general store. This inspiring gathering space features a cafe, wine bar, coffee shop and a market with gourmet goods, home decor and gifts. At Provision, we create community by sharing the joy of food and wine.

Summary

To oversee and provide leadership and coaching in all phases of day to day operations to the management team and team members. Provide direction and training leading to the overall wellness of the team and business.

Owners (Elisabeth and William Hanes)

Essential Functions:
• Embrace, embody, and cultivate Provision's core values
• Agree to follow and enforce team handbook. Coordinates and implements restaurant policies and procedures to all team members.
• Provide appropriate leadership and advice to team. This includes setting goals, controlling cost of goods sold and labor costs, safety, sanitation, product quality control, training, and guest relations.
• Leads team to increase business sales and net profit.
• Oversees management team and their specific roles. Assist management team in identifying and working towards goals (i.e. seasonal menu items, labor and cost goals, training goals).
• Creates weekly schedule at least three weeks in advance.
• Calls people in and sends people home to control labor cost. Labor must be kept within parameters set by owners.
• Ensures effective training and demonstration of food safety practices.
• Manages hiring of new employees in conjunction with management.
• Appropriately coaches team members as needed. This includes written coaching sessions and firings.
• Supervises the hiring of all starts and orientation of all team members.

• Handles employee documentation as needed and firing as needed.
• Develops the management skills of the management team.
• Ensures compliance with Federal and State labor laws.
• Ensures consistent uniform and appearance standards of team members.
• Works with owners to ensure proper maintenance of equipment and repairs.
• Demonstrates positive and effective role modeling for all team members through appearance and attitude.
• Ensures the accurate implementation of new products and procedures.
• Must have the capacity to run the operation year round
• Provide weekly update to owner on transactions, net sales, and labor - and make notes for the next year

Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have capacity to run the operation
• Must be willing to work weekends unless time off approved by owner
• Position will require between 45-50 hours of work per week.
• Must be willing to work days and up to two nights a week
• Must be willing to work blackout periods
