Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled Master Equipment Technician specializing in heavy equipment hydraulics. This role involves inspecting, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hydraulic systems on heavy equipment. The position requires significant travel (up to 60% overnight) and is a key part of the field service team. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality. Dependability and the ability to work overtime when necessary are crucial in our small team environment. This is a day shift position.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems in heavy equipment.
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
Replace hydraulic hoses, pumps, motors, valves, and other components as needed.
Troubleshoot hydraulic system failures and implement effective solutions.
Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
Adhere to and support the company's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.
Education Requirements:
High School diploma or GED required; Technical school credentials preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least five years of experience in repairing hydraulic heavy equipment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand equipment manuals and blueprints.
Rigging experience is a plus.
Expertise in various construction equipment such as aerial lifts, skid loaders, mobile cranes, rough terrain forklifts, excavators, light towers, air compressors, and generators is beneficial.
Professional and customer service-oriented demeanor.
Willingness to travel overnight up to 60% of the time.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of multi-tasking while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Must supply own repair tools; larger tools/equipment provided by the company.
Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
Physical Demands:
The role requires heavy lifting, climbing on equipment, and working in various positions.
Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Standing for over 90% of the day is required.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a shop or field setting, including customer and project sites.
The role involves working both independently and as part of a team, often under tight deadlines.
Exposure to heat, temperature changes, noise, and humidity is frequent.
Occasionally, work near moving mechanical parts or exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur, requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or hard hats.
The noise level in production/manufacturing areas is usually loud.
