Overview

Dennis & Co. Auto Group is seeking an experienced General Manager with a proven track record in dealership management and growth to join our expanding network in New York and New Jersey. We operate a diverse portfolio of 12 automotive brands across 16 locations in the Metropolitan New York Region.

Job Summary

As the General Manager of our Volkswagen dealership in Nanuet, NY, you will oversee all aspects of dealership operations to ensure profitability, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company standards and policies. This role involves leading and developing staff, creating and executing strategic business plans, and achieving sales and service objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management
• Oversee daily operations across sales, service, parts, and finance departments.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

2. Leadership and Staff Development
• Hire, train, and mentor department managers and staff.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
• Implement performance management processes and provide regular feedback to staff.

3. Customer Experience
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and promptly address any concerns or complaints.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and build long-term relationships.

4. Sales and Marketing
• Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to achieve dealership goals.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
• Oversee effective merchandising and promotional activities to attract and retain customers.

5. Financial Management
• Prepare and manage the dealership's annual budget.
• Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
• Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities to increase revenue.

6. Inventory Management
• Oversee ordering and inventory control of vehicles, parts, and accessories.
• Ensure optimal stock levels to meet customer demand without overstocking.

7. Compliance and Safety
• Ensure all dealership operations comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Promote and enforce a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive dealership General Manager; Volkswagen experience preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing dealership operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent financial acumen and analytical abilities.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Proficiency with dealership management software and CRM systems.

Other Requirements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Availability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
