The ideal individual must have the ability to think on their and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced high-throughput lab.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies
Assists CLS with automated steps in the analytic testing phase for patient diagnostic testing under the direct and constant supervision of licensed CLS
Participate in laboratory support work as required by the team needs and at the direction of laboratory management
Assist with specimen receipt and preparation when needed
Maintaining lab equipment.
Following the laboratory procedures for specimen handling receipt and data entry into the lab information management system LIMS
Document on batch records
Handling and working with potentially hazardous materials
Extract DNA from saliva samples in a BSL2 Laboratory
Adhere to SOPs for all processes of the lab including but not limited to processing DNA samples through the Infinium assay
Daily operation of liquid-handling robots and array scanners to meet daily and weekly production goals
Carry out daily/weekly/monthly maintenance schedules to ensure that the laboratory equipment is operating properly
Packaging functions that include sending saliva samples and DNA back to customers
Maintain lab supplies and consumables
Keep lab stocked of appropriate reagents and materials
Track and report all lab incidents
Sample disposal
