Performs troubleshooting, corrective and preventative maintenance for manufacturing, packaging, laboratory and facilities systems (e.g., small and large-scale mixers, bottle and tube filling/ packaging lines, compressed air, boiler and purifier water systems). Works on assignments that are complex in nature in which independent action and a high level of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations. Performs non-routine and repetitive duties under supervision. Must be able to utilize drawings and specifications to perform troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Responsibilities include performing tasks such as routine inspections, preventative maintenance, quality repairs, and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas to ensure functionality and safety standards are met per StandardOperating Procedures (SOP's).
Maintains functional and safe work environments in various types of facilities (e.g., production, offices, warehousing).
Receives, manages and processes work order requests efficiently and accurately.
Assumes major role in assigned projects (e.g., working with MFG Engineer on process improvements, equipmentupgrades, identifying new equipment and/or change parts, etc.)
Performs or assists in equipment installations, commissioning, decommissioning, and calibrations.
Records daily readings for purified water system.
Actively monitors daily operating status of building facilities.
Accurately maintains inventory of spare parts, hardware and supplies; reorders as needed.
Coordinates remote or onsite support with outside contractors to resolve specialized preventative or correctivemaintenance.
May assist in the evaluation of new components for compatibility with packaging equipment and obtain bids fornecessary change parts.
Accurately authors and revises department SOP's, as needed.
Provides technical troubleshooting guidance and support to fellow facilities and setup technicians.
Assists with department training for MIOSHA programs such as Hazardous Energy, Electrical Safety Work Practices,Hot Work and Confined Space Programs following approved SOP's.
Coordinates with other departments (e.g., production planning, quality control and validation) to schedule preventativemaintenance activities, equipment qualification or testing.
Work may also include non-technical electrical, plumbing, grounds, carpentry, locksmith and painting.

Requirements
Required to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying materials with prolonged periods ofstanding/walking throughout various facilities.
Required to lift 55 lbs. vertically along with push and pull requirements of 50 lbs. force (rolling loads).
Ensures compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
Must be capable to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to use hand and small power tools.
Requires basic reading comprehension and math skills.
Requires basic computer efficiency including Microsoft Office.
Strong communication skills both verbally and written, contributing positively and effectively in a team environment.
Ability to use effective problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve challenges or issues as they arise.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Vocational education or technical training relevant to maintenance is preferred.
Requires good mechanical aptitude and previous maintenance experience.
Previous experience in FDA-regulated industry (cGMP knowledge) and pharma or manufacturing experience is preferred.
Experience with programmable logic controllers is a plus.
