The Director of Resource Acquisition reports to the Vice President of Emergency Preparedness and Response and developsnew partnerships, as well as fostering existing partnerships with Industry Allies. The Director of Resource Acquisition plays a key role in acquiring resources during storm response events. This position demands quick thinking, flexibility, and the ability to work irregular hours-often under high pressure and with short notice.
Primary Responsibilities (Storm):
Monitor ongoing storm developments through multiple platforms.
Frequently reach out to trade allies to fulfill utility requests.
Make continuous updates to a proprietary database, ensuring accurate and detailed data entry.
Provide clear and accurate communication with Trade Allies, Customer Relations and Emergency Response teams throughout each event.
Primary Responsibilities (Off Storm):
Meet with Trade Ally Leadership to establish, maintain and strengthen relationships.
Work closely with Trade Allies to understand their needs and develop solutions through other Tempest Affiliates.
Leverage events that interest Trade Allies and add to the quality of Tempest Partnerships.
Work Closely with Customer Relations and Emergency Response teams to exchange valuable information which improves Tempest's ability to stay current with industry changes and trends.
Attend and represent Tempest at various Industry events.
Conduct effective after-action reviews, both internally and with trade allies.
Qualifications:
Background in Electric Utility Industry required.
Proficient in MS Office and utilizing IOS devices.
Strong oral and written communication skills; Comfortable communicating and interacting at all corporate levels.
Adaptability to respond to a storm call at any time; be prepared to work outside of regular office hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, depending on storm activity.
Ability to build and maintain strong, lasting relationships.
