Airswift is working in partnership with a well-established steel manufacturer, which is currently looking to hire a Drafter.
For this role, you will play a critical role in transforming engineering designs and customer specifications into precise working drawings. Utilizing CAD software, you will ensure that all structural and infrastructure products meet the highest standards of accuracy, adhering to AISC & AWS standards, as well as internal guidelines. This role demands a solid understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and exceptional drafting practices. Strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Review engineering designs and specifications to ensure constructability and manufacturability.
Analyze customer documents and address any discrepancies with relevant team members.
Develop Submittal Drawings and Shop Drawings based on engineering data or customer requirements.
Complete drawings, DXF files, and Bills of Material on time according to project timelines.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of your work before submission for approval and fabrication.
Implement corrections to drawings from redlines, ensuring proper documentation.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to meet project goals.
Perform additional drafting-related tasks as assigned by the Drafting Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
Associate degree or Certificate in Structural or Mechanical Drafting.
Entry-level experience in Structural or Mechanical Drafting, with a strong foundation in relevant job requirements.
Solid knowledge of structural or mechanical drafting techniques.
Strong mathematical abilities, including geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Familiarity with AWS weld symbols and common drafting standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
