The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago (EFGC) is a not-for-profit organization serving 44 counties in Illinois since 1946. We offer education, advocacy, and case management to people living with epilepsy, their families, and the communities in which they live, all in the service of helping our constituents seize the narrative back from epilepsy. We are a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization existing under the laws of the State of Illinois and operating as a local affiliate of the Epilepsy Foundation of America.

POSITION SALARY RANGE:
$85,000-$115,000
Starting salary is based on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the individual.
The Director of Health Equity, Education & Advocacy will provide leadership and coordination for the implementation of the department's health equity framework. This person will have a focus internally to ensure clinical and case management staff are measuring social determinants of health within the Salesforce database. This will ensure that the Director can effectively work in the community to improve health outcomes by fostering the appropriate partnerships and collaborations. The Director will also oversee the education component to manage the delivery of the seizure first aid programming in schools and communities.
EFGC follows a hybrid work structure where employees work remotely or from the office based on demands of specific tasks and job duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, human services, or related field
4-6 years' experience in nonprofit program management including:
Experience in supervising staff
Experience in public speaking
Experience with social service agency structure
Experience identifying community assets
Experience addressing social determinants of health
Experience building and managing partnerships
Coachable, Compassionate, and Mission-driven
Understanding of cultural humility, diversity and the importance of working in underserved and underrepresented communities
Initiative-taker, self-starter, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Program and Partnership Management (40%)
Cultivate strong relationships with partners to incorporate diverse community voices into EFGC programs and events.
Oversee data in salesforce to ensure we are meeting health equity goals.
Community Programs & Events (30%)
Assist in planning with Ammon's Horn Society dinners and health equity roundtables.
Direct public-facing events, such as parades and other opportunities for visibility.
Education and Advocacy (30%)
Supervise Community Education Specialist (2) to ensure seizure first aid training is provided to schools, businesses and communities.
Represent organization in annual Public Policy Institute (seasonal)
