My client, a well-established provider of safety solutions in the automotive industry, is known for their commitment to quality and continuous improvement. They are currently seeking a Quality Engineer who will lead and manage continuous improvement systems, oversee document control and ISO certification, and collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve issues
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Lead and manage the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement Systems and Procedures.
Support the Manager in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and oversee document control and ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Manage the use of Control Plans, 8-D, 5-Why, and other improvement tools.
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to address issues and implement corrective actions.
Oversee Root Cause/Corrective Action (CA) systems, including investigating, evaluating, reviewing, and responding to nonconformances, ensuring timely resolution and effectiveness verification.
Monitor and track quality control parameters to ensure process reliability and capability.
Prepare APQP forms and submit PPAP packets for customer approval.
Manage customer portals on a daily basis.
Handle the QA Hold area and the MRB process/meetings.
Calibrate onsite gages and manage the Calibration system, including sending gages offsite when needed.
Lead the scheduling and completion of internal audits with input from the Manager.
Train on FDA, IMDS, Compliance/Regulatory topics and become proficient in all areas of Compliance.
Issue, track, and follow up on Internal/External Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
Conduct Layered Process and General Audits.
Minor Responsibilities/Duties:
Handle external communications, both written and verbal.
Prepare presentations and materials for meetings.
Promote and sustain a 6S culture.
Assist the QA Tech with product rework when necessary.
Conduct Layered Process and Training audits.
Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
Tools/Techniques: Proficient in Microsoft Office, GagePack, SPC software, PPAP, and APQP.
Competency: Ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments, excellent organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 is required.
Physical Demands: Ability to sit for up to 8 hours a day, lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 30 pounds on rare occasions.
