Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Solutions & Data Center Architecture Team to lead a talented group of architects and engineers in developing cutting-edge data center solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center design, power and cooling systems, and customer-facing solution architecture. This role requires a strategic leader who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, interface with key clients, and drive innovative solutions aligned with market trends and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of solution architects and data center engineers.
Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Foster a collaborative team culture focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Solution Design & Architecture:
Oversee the design and development of scalable, efficient, and resilient data center solutions, including power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
Collaborate with sales, product management, and R&D teams to define customer requirements and create tailored solutions.
Ensure alignment with industry best practices, compliance standards (e.g., UL, IEC, NFPA), and client-specific requirements.
Customer Engagement & Pre-Sales Support:
Act as the primary technical point of contact for strategic customers, including hyperscalers (Google, Meta, Microsoft).
Lead technical discussions, present architectural solutions, and address client questions or concerns.
Support the sales team in responding to RFPs, RFIs, and developing comprehensive proposals that meet customer needs.
Project Management & Execution:
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful solution delivery.
Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Drive efficient collaboration across internal teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls) to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data center design, power systems, and thermal management.
Lead initiatives to integrate new technologies (e.g., AI/ML for predictive maintenance, edge computing solutions) into the architecture portfolio.
Champion sustainability efforts, focusing on energy efficiency and carbon reduction in data center solutions.
Key Qualifications:
Education: MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A PhD degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data center architecture, solution design, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role.
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of power systems (UPS, PDUs, busbars) and thermal management (air cooling, liquid cooling, immersion cooling).
Proficiency in using design and simulation tools (AutoCAD, ETAP, 6SigmaDCX).
Familiarity with industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, TIA-942).
Project Management Skills: Experience in leading large-scale projects with cross-functional teams and managing project budgets.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Client-Focused Mindset: Proven experience in engaging with key clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED AP, Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD), or Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP).
Experience with hyperscaler clients (Google, Meta, AWS) or large enterprise data center environments.
Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in the data center industry.
