Success Profile:
GIII Apparel Group is currently seeking a Director of Women's Merchandising who will oversee the development of product strategies and assortments that captivate and retain customers for Converse Apparel. You will manage the entire product lifecycle, leading merchandising discussions with key accounts, and ensuring financial plans are in place for the business. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, Sales, Design, Planning, and Marketing, to drive revenue-generating product strategies in line with brand priorities. This role also involves setting a visionary path for product assortment, long-term growth, and product architecture to exceed financial goals and consumer expectations.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop and oversee seasonal product strategies and assortments across all product offerings, ensuring alignment with consumer preferences and financial objectives.
Lead the creation and execution of product lifecycle strategies, including pricing, and margin plans that maximize margins.
Collaborate with Design & Product development to meet the needs of accounts through product offerings.
Advocate for customer needs via detailed briefings, product performance reviews, and seasonal line launches.
Communicate product strategies and inspire alignment across CFT teams including Design, Planning, Marketing, Sales, and external accounts.
Drive segmentation at category, and account level to foster distinction and sustainable growth across all channels.
Analyze and present business performance data, providing relevant insights and guiding short-term and long-term strategies.
Direct and participate in market deep-dive, using insights to shape long-term category vision, seasonal frameworks, and trend responses.
Provide strategic leadership, and mentorship to the merchandising team, promoting a culture of innovation, consumer focus, and continuous improvement. Develop a team of merchants.
Travel to markets and account meetings to identify brand opportunities and gather insights.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required.
10+ years of experience within the merchandising or related industry.
Knowledge of merchandising practices and the ability to create a long-term strategic vision.
Experience managing complex projects and gaining buy-in through a combination of ownership and indirect influence.
Ability to mentor and provide constructive feedback to both direct reports and cross-functional team members.
Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
The pay range for this position is: $125,000 - $185,000 per year
