The ideal candidate will lead the development and integration of product concepts, starting from basic customer specifications and progressing through prototyping and testing. They will create system models, evaluate products, and implement adjustments as needed. They will be responsible for analyzing products and addressing design challenges to enhance future iterations.
Responsibilities
Complete design studies, tolerance stack-ups, layout, drawings, calculations, weight estimates and provide supporting documentation
Manage efforts of major component suppliers to ensure on-time development of subsystems
Prepare and present design development status to management and customers
Coordinate design development and assigned project Designers, performance analysis, and making necessary adjustments as needed
Supported Engineering Department, check design work to verify layout, fit, form, function, materials, specifications, and other details/documents as required
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3-5 years' experience working Automotive Vehicle Controls (Steering, Acceleration, Braking etc.), Mechanical Parts and their Human Interface
Proficiency with CAD (CREO preferred) based Design Systems
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing
