Contech is seeking individuals to manage and technically lead Instrument, Electrical, and Automation projects in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Manager performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
Assist with proposal development and define scope of the project in collaboration with management and project team.
Define scope of the project in collaboration with management and project team.
Determine resources (time, budget, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to the activities.
On a regular basis, review project schedule, budget, and staffing with management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise schedule and budget as required.
Ensure project personnel receive an appropriate onboarding orientation to the organization and project.
Assist on contracting qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriate.
Execute the project according to the project plan.
Set up files to ensure all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
Ensure proper document control throughout the project.
Generate or support generation of technical deliverables as agreed with client.
On a regular basis, monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Establish communication to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
Create progress reports for management.
Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures, including labor, material, expenses, and sub-contracts.
Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to client and management on a regular basis (biweekly).
Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
Ensure that project deliverables are on time, within budget and at required level of quality.
Evaluate outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
Review and accept customer purchase orders.
Review and approve invoices from vendors and to be sent to clients.
Lead and/or support technical efforts required for the project design and execution.
Prepare and conduct Lesson Learned on projects.
Conduct performance evaluations for personnel related to projects.
Requirements
The Project Manager requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
BS in engineering required with a PE preferable.
PMP is preferred.
10+ years of Control System or Instrument Engineering experience.
5+ years of Project Management experience preferable.
Knowledge of Microsoft software products (Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
Knowledge of simple accounting.
Working conditions are as follows:
Position Type: Full Time.
Standard Hours: Monday- Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Client Preferred Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
