Position Description:
The CF-System verification team seeks a seasoned and self-motivated SW Test engineer to join our team. In this role, the Test Engineer will work with experienced test engineers to provide E2E verification of Ford's connected features. Work with the latest Connected Vehicle technologies to test the end-to-end in-vehicle customer experience in data, smartphones, and web services. Develop/maintain/execute end-to-end feature technical specifications and test plans to ensure an excellent customer experience, compliance with legal requirements and high-quality standards, coordination of test activities, and reporting test results & SW Defects. Develop, execute, and review automation test scripts and test results for a given connected features. Work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Mobile App, in-vehicle, multi-module over-the-air Update (MMOTA), and cloud SW development teams to ensure accurate test suites reflect the most up-to-date feature design requirements. Track change requests at all of Ford's connected feature system levels and modify the test execution procedures accordingly. Deliver effective verification metrics of the responsible feature(s) and promote timely awareness of essential blocking items. Drive Software testing integrity and requirement & test results traceability. Support DV Efficiency efforts to identify opportunities to move testing from the Road to the Lab to Virtual. Drive and continue to modernize and disrupt traditional Connected Features validation testing processes, tools, and methods. Ensures test fleet is updated and in optimal conditions for evaluations and test at all times. Support Connected Features vehicle sign off testing with proper documentation of initial/final software states, as well as software and resources used for testing. Ensure ownership of feature defect creation, management, and resolution with clear & consistent engineering & communication practices.
Skills Required:
2+ years of experience in Design Verification in Developing and managing all Test Assets (Test Plans, Test Cases, automated and manual Test Scripts)
Experience Required:
Experience in development and execution of functional test procedures within a software or vehicle testing organization. Experience in electrical schematics for vehicle components and systems and electrical architectures of distributed systems. Experience in bench testing of distributed electrical systems (Electrical System Engineering) including bench functional integration, test execution, measuring and instrumentation, incident reporting and root cause analysis. Experience in embedded controller networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and the use of ECU diagnostic and network communication tools to verify and troubleshoot distributed vehicle systems (i.e. CANoe, CANalyzer).
Education Required:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study
