Supervise, manage and dispatch intercompany truck drivers.
Train personnel as required to support Shipping and Receiving functions.
Scheduling logistics to reduce transport cost of all materials (in bound and out bound).
Perform shipping and receiving duties.
Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods/supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods.
Responsible to arrange for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Responsible for adherence to all safety policies.
Responsible for adherence to all environmental policies.
Load and transport parts on state and federal roads.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks:
Familiarity with and able to interpret packing slips.
Accurate data entry of information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order-processing database.
Ability to accurately complete all shipping documents (bills of lading etc.) and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
Must be capable of estimating weight, and use that information to calculate the cost of shipping.
Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specifics packaging requirements.
Must be familiar with DOT requirements for CDL drivers and trucking requirements.
Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment and be a licensed forklift truck operator.
Trained in General Safety and Quality System Awareness.
Perform duties in shop and office environment.
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oil.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Personal Protection Equipment:
Safety Glasses required while performing specific tasks.
Hearing protection required in designated area's
Work Environment:
Works in an office and manufacturing environment.
Exposed to dust, odors, fumes and noise.
Education and Requirements:
Minimum of 3 Years' experience in shipping and receiving in an industrial environment.
Minimum of 1 Year experience in Supervision.
Clean driver's license.
Be able to pass DOT medical standards for medical card.
Minimum of a high school education
Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
