About the role:
The Global Upstream Product Manager role will be responsible for leading the global, upstream marketing activities for a product portfolio. This person will partner collaboratively with cross-functional teams, develop KOL relationships, drive market research, and translate Voice of Customer into action.
Topics will range from the exploration and characterization of new growth opportunities to portfolio optimization that supports key investment decisions. This person is expected to be comfortable working in highly autonomous environments and projects while establishing relationships with internal/external business partners, developing compelling recommendations, and driving initiatives to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
Drive "Voice of Customer" (VOC) throughout the technology development process to ensure market specifications are incorporated throughout each project phase
Leverage VOC to inform User and Business needs
Support product development activities across multiple internal and external groups such as Clinical, Regulatory and Operations
Support RD teams, including the opportunity to work with Agile teams focusing on "quick to market" strategies
Strong support and high interaction with Downstream Marketing counterparts to ensure continuity and best practice learnings through product launch
Develop and execute global customer input plan to inform product development decision-making by partnering with cross-functional core team members
Act as Marketing lead on project core teams
Conduct marketing research projects as needed to gather insights to drive decision-making
Facilitate cross-functional discussions and recommendations on investment decisions and market strategy initiatives focused on growing the business while leveraging classic marketing capabilities.
Ongoing support and refinement of market revenue and segmentation models in partnership with Market Strategy and Finance
Demonstrate command of key business trends and market conditions through market research, clinical literature, metrics, coordination with customer interfacing teams and personal interaction with key customers
Develop and manage Claims Matrix and evidence plan to support future commercial market entry
Develop an understanding of current and future market dynamics and the competitive landscape
Identify, track and provide updates to senior leadership on competitive initiatives to support strategic decision making; conduct and/or direct vendors in market analysis and research
Plan, execute and participate in global physician advisory boards
Support pipeline discussions around future portfolio including hands-on demonstrations and presentations to physicians
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, or healthcare
5+ years prior upstream marketing, product management, product development, or strategic marketing
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Creation of compelling presentations and effective communication of recommendations.
Demonstrated experience with product lifecycle management.
Demonstrated experience conducting assessments of sophisticated markets.
Ability to influence leadership and key stakeholders through excellent communication and interpersonal skills and creating compelling, cohesive, and succinct presentations.
Strong analytical, quantitative, financial modeling, and strategic thinking skills
KOL engagement and experience managing multiple physician collaborators
Up to 30% travel required (mostly US; some global may be required)
