Position Summary: We are seeking a Special Projects Superintendent to assist site management and act as a production manager. Based near Appleton, WI, and with the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement, this role reports to the Vice President of Construction. The ideal candidate will oversee various construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality at every stage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols, ensuring all personnel adhere to best practices and company safety policies.
Oversee the use of equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), and facilitate necessary safety training.
Promote timely reporting and documentation of safety incidents and near misses.
Quality Control:
Ensure site conditions are prepared for project commencement.
Communicate project scopes and expectations clearly to foremen and craftspeople.
Regularly inspect the use of materials and installation processes to maintain high-quality standards.
Production Management:
Review and set project estimates and production goals aligned with operational standards.
Monitor daily outputs, comparing them against planned estimates and adjusting as necessary.
Prepare sites for work, manage crew sizes, and ensure efficient use of equipment and personnel.
Leadership and Development:
Provide leadership and mentorship to crews, fostering a positive work environment and promoting team effectiveness.
Develop and maintain training programs to enhance skill levels and career growth within the division.
Act as a liaison between field and office staff, enhancing communication and support.
External Representation:
Engage with community and industry events to promote company values and expand business relationships.
Support business development activities and participate in ambassador programs to enhance company reputation.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the construction industry, with a focus on safety and production management.
Strong understanding of construction processes and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating teams and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
A commitment to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Must be located near Appleton, WI, or willing to relocate, with a hybrid work arrangement available.
