Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design projects from initial concept through production, ensuring all components are designed to meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness throughout the project lifecycle to support manufacturing and procurement.
Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components, ensuring that they meet design specifications, cost parameters, and project timelines.
Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams, helping to integrate mechanical designs effectively into broader project plans.
Conduct detailed analysis, simulations, and testing of mechanical systems and components, ensuring performance is validated and identifying opportunities for improvements.
Participate in design reviews and offer technical insights and solutions based on engineering principles, experience, and industry best practices.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that projects are completed successfully and on time. Regularly report on project progress to senior management, highlighting any potential risks or challenges.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
At least 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and project engineering, ideally within the railcar, heavy machinery, or manufacturing industries.
Strong experience in leading mechanical design projects, with a proven track record of managing BOMs, schedules, and budgets.
Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is highly preferred.
