We are working with a leading manufacturer in the railroad component space to find a talented Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. Recently, the company added a new engineer to the team and is now looking to bring on another key player to further strengthen their engineering department. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical design projects from initial concept through production, ensuring all components are designed to meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness throughout the project lifecycle to support manufacturing and procurement.
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components, ensuring that they meet design specifications, cost parameters, and project timelines.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams, helping to integrate mechanical designs effectively into broader project plans.
  • Conduct detailed analysis, simulations, and testing of mechanical systems and components, ensuring performance is validated and identifying opportunities for improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews and offer technical insights and solutions based on engineering principles, experience, and industry best practices.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that projects are completed successfully and on time. Regularly report on project progress to senior management, highlighting any potential risks or challenges.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and project engineering, ideally within the railcar, heavy machinery, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong experience in leading mechanical design projects, with a proven track record of managing BOMs, schedules, and budgets.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is highly preferred.
