The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager. This role involves overseeing and coordinating the work of line employees, ensuring the highest quality of products. The Production Supervisor is accountable for the performance of a line, value stream team, or technology group, focusing on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Waste, and Customer Service. This position also includes responsibilities for Food Safety and Food Quality.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:
Ensure the safety of personnel and products.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coach operators during downtime. Assist in resolving mechanical and operational problems.
Foster teamwork between production and maintenance departments.
Define project priorities and provide direction to production staff. Monitor team performance and audit activities to ensure quality work and goal achievement.
Lead the team by setting expectations, providing routine feedback, and following the Performance Management System.
Manage the PDCA process, including problem statement, root cause analysis, and countermeasure implementation.
Identify and implement reliability improvement opportunities through changes to procedures and equipment upgrades.
Develop and communicate procedures/processes that support production strategies.
Utilize preventive and predictive maintenance techniques to minimize equipment breakdowns.
Manage personnel plans to ensure team success.
Develop and implement operator preventative maintenance systems. Maintain the plant CIL program, Changeover Program, Startup/Shutdown procedures, and Machine Centerline process.
Assist in hiring new staff and manage the production training program.
Understand line control, bottle flow, and can flow to balance the line for even work pace.
Understand staffing and productivity calculations to set targets.
Coordinate with the maintenance department to optimize production line performance and support production personnel.
Analyze data using computer systems to communicate measures and set targets.
Operate all plant machinery and troubleshoot setup issues and operator competency gaps.
Develop training standards and work instructions for production processes.
Ensure completion of all production preventative maintenance items.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage 10-20 employees; the Production Team reports to this position.
Monitor employee productivity and provide feedback, coaching, counseling, and discipline. Conduct training and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
College degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience using a PC and business information systems/software.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the food/beverage industry.
Experience in report writing.
